Of Pittsburgh, formerly of Shamokin, PA, died peacefully at her home on May 15, 2012, after living a full life filled with gentleness of thought and great warmth of heart. She was the beloved wife of the late James A. Van Shura; mother of Mary Esther Van Shura of Pittsburgh and Donald (Donna) Van Shura, grandmother of Jill (Chris) Yablonski and great-grandmother of Chloe and Margo, all of Shamokin, PA; sister of Raymond (Mary) Nesler and the late Cornelius Nesler. Throughout her life, Dolores was actively involved in numerous community and faith organizations including serving as Vice President of the Parish Council of Catholic Women, Member of the Catholic Daughters, and numerous fundraising activities for her parish of Our Lady of Hope in her home community of Shamokin, PA. Her joyfulness for life and great sense of humor was shared by many friends especially at Little Sisters of the Poor. Age 97, of Longmont, CO formerly of Mt. Washington, PA passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Applewood Living Center. Martha was born on June 17, 1914 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Michele and Maria (Raffaele) Saldutti. Martha married Giacomo (James) Carilli on September 22, 1934 and happily married for 66 years. They had 3 children, James Jr., Michael and Rosemary.Martha lived the majority of her life in Mt. Washington where she was a homemaker and raised her 3 children. Martha’s favorite things to do were to bake and crochet. She was a member of St. Justin’s Catholic Church. She moved to Longmont, Colorado in September 2006 to live with her daughter Rosemary and son-in-law John. In the six years she lived in Colorado, she made numerous friends and touched the lives of all those who knew her. She enjoyed going to the Homestead where she enjoyed crocheting caps for the newborn babies at Longmont United Hospital and The Senior Center where she belonged to the Knit & Pearl group where they crocheted and knitted items for charity.Martha was preceded in death by her parents and sister, her husband James, her 2 sons James Jr. and Michael, her grandson Jimmy and her grand-daughter Theresa.Martha is survived by her daughter, Rosemary Hanusa (John) of Longmont, CO, grandsons, Matt Hanusa (Michelle) of Hillsboro, OR and Jeff Hanusa of Lincoln, NE. She is also survived by grandson, James Carilli (Diana) and 2 great-granddaughters, Samantha and Nikki of Dublin, OH. Also grand-daughter, Kim Ables and great-granddaughter Courtney of Pickerington, OH and great-granddaughter, Ashley Odenthal (Josh) of Pataskala, OH. Age 79, on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton, PA. Daughter of the late Thomas and Nora Concannon O’Malley. She was preceded in death by brothers Thomas P. and Martin J. O’Malley; She is survived by sister-in-law, Jean O’Malley, of Castle Shannon; nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Sr. Mary Bride served as a teacher and principal at schools in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. Most of her time was spent at St. Mary of the Mount in Pittsburgh, where a Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. Friends received at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton, PA, on Tuesday 3-7 p.m., with the funeral on Wednesday at 11am.
